Hi!! I’m Leticia Ochoa Adams and I’m so glad that you stopped by to read my blog. I would love to get to know you as well so feel free to find me on Facebook, Twitter or just email me at leticiaoadams at gmail dot com.

I have a crazy life! I am in school at Holy Apostles and Seminary in a Philosophy program, I am a mother and wife of a blended family and have a grandchild and one on the way, I host a daily radio show on Real Life Radio, I’m writing a book, I help with RCIA, I contribute to Catholic Stand and I have three projects that are still in very early planning stages. I am in therapy to deal with my past wounds and process them and I am in Al-anon to work on my codependency issues stemming from being married to a drug addict in my first marriage.

My husband and I grew up in the same town(s) in South Texas so we have known each other since we were 4 years old. That’s a long time. Our love story began in my Tia Mary’s sewing closet. We went out in Jr. High and by “went out”, I mean we made out in the Baptist Church where we attended weekly youth group. We broke up when I asked him to marry me and give me babies and didn’t see each other for 17 years. In January of 2008 he found me on MySpace. He sent me a message and we have been together ever since. He was in Iraq and came home that May and we moved in together in a house in Austin. We began going to church here and there at the local Catholic parish because it seemed like the right thing to do. When he left for Afghanistan (as a contractor) I decided to begin taking classes to get my Sacraments. I had been baptized as a baby, but didn’t have the other ones and I wanted Stacey to marry me. I had no desire to change my life at all. I thought I knew all about that Jesus stuff and had come to grips with how I was going to live the rest of my life. I knew Jesus was real, but He had no real impact on how I lived my life at all and I didn’t plan on that changing. God is hilarious because that’s exactly what happened after 9 months of arguing with Catholics about everything I found myself on a road in Rome where St. Peter had encountered Christ and I encountered the oldest shepherd to ever live walking his herd of sheep. I knew right then that the Catholic Church was were I would live out my Christianity and that my life belonged to God.

It’s been a crazy 6 years and I have had the most amazing experiences and the lowest times in my life too. Jesus has been with me the entire way even when I feel like He has forsaken me. I try to live my life in a way that gives witness to what Jesus has done for me without letting people put me in a box or disrespect me. I have compassion for those who are still lost and I know that no matter what anyone sees on the outside, God is working on the inside and anyone can go from being in a swingers club to having Jesus be the Lord of their life, just like me. I’m not special, I just know that I am loved and hope to help others know that they are loved too.

Feel free to contact me anytime and ask me anything, I’m an open book and love nothing more than to help out others who are on their own journey.

  1. Loved you on the JF show today!!! I really identified with your response in looking for a way to feel like I can be in the world but not of the world. I have unfortunately surpressed some things I actually really love about myself in order to feel like I am living virtuously. Think I need some reevaluation…Keep on rockin Leti
